Cloudy days are my favorite
for shoots like these...

When we pulled into the park, the Spanish moss hanging from the trees were dripping like someone had just wrung out a towel. The birds were chirping so sweetly, and the fog was light; just as the mist within it was while we walked. Once we got to the center of the grove, we knew we had hit a gold mine with the sunlight that was peeping through holes in the clouds, making for the perfect blanket over our session.
My sister-in-law had been wanting to develop her modeling portfolio, and I needed someone that could interpret my vision on-camera. I got the concept for this editorial from Miley Cyrus' Can't Be Tamed music video. She portrayed a beautiful but fictional bird, called the "Avis Cyrus." The outfit and colors of the feathers stuck with me from youth to adulthood. Keeping that concept in mind, I ordered all of the pieces of the photoshoot garb from Amazon and got to work, curating the perfect session. When I showed my mood board to my SIL, she was instantly on-board!
She definitely did NOT disappoint!
Even when we wrapped with the session in the park, we weren't done creating art. She agreed to stay another day, and we planned a silk and water session for the beach the next morning.
The waves, the sunrise, the sand... Everything was on-point and ready for our session when we arrived. The wind was a perfect accessory for the silks, and played a painter with the waves; accentuating the poses we achieved while in the water.
See for yourself; she's a gem, and I can't wait for our next session!
