It was a cooler

Florida October Day

The drive to the session was full of winding, twisting roads that were barely wide enough for one car to pass through.  When we reached the desired location, we parked on the shoulder and began our hike to the perfect spot.

The red clay cliffs first came into focus, just as the sun was cresting over the hillside and peeking through the trees.  I squinted, as I walked toward the sun's rays.  I noticed that even though we were close, there were another five minutes and several downhill and uphill climbs left before we reached our destination.  A few tree branches and burning calves later, we arrived!

The cliffs were immaculate!

We were standing in a valley of red clay and rocks, flocked on one side by the stream and surrounded by walls of beauty as far up as you could look on the other.  Treetops were visible, but only just, as they poked toward the clouds at the top of the cliffs.  And the cliffs themselves, oh; the sun was hitting them just right, causing a delicate orange and peachy glow.

We started with the bridals and then worked our way through the ceremony, before having the cake cutting, champagne pop, and those last few sunset bridal shots.  By the time we finished, the red clay had transformed from orange to peach and then to a deep red, captivating me and showing out through my lens.  I couldn't wait to get back home to my computer; I just knew the images were going to pop when I threw them into my editing software.

Kimmy was a gem and truly magical in her gown - while Wesley was a perfect gentleman, and their love really shined brighter than the sunlight against the cliffside.
